Requirements

  • A level 4,5 or 6 qualifications in Arboriculture (or equivalent)

  • Good standard of general arboricultural knowledge including tree ident and defect identification

  • Drive and ambition

  • Experience of tree surveys preferable

  • IT literate

PRINCIPAL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

   

SALARY: Competitive

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced and chartered professional with strong technical skills who can work alongside directors to develop the landscape sector in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

 

The practice is involved in a wide range of work encompassing Arboriculture, Ecology and Landscape. Our clients include local government, land managers, developers for small, medium and large infrastructure regeneration developments.  

The Role

  • Landscape planning

  • Master planning, soft & hard landscape design, design access statements

  • Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)

  • Landscape Character Assessment (LCA)

  • Take projects from concept design to detailed documents and tender packages for construction  

  • Managing commercial elements of the practice

  • Project Managing large scale projects ensuring targets are met

  • Acting as the main client contact to communicate our ideas in direct and engaging ways

  • Working with Business Development Manager and Directors to grow client relationships

  • Engagement with colleagues in other discipline streams to promote services,

  • Preparation of bid response documents 

  • Hands on delivery of landscape design across a range of sectors and clients 

  • Financial management of project activity ensuring delivery to programme and agreed time budget 

  • Working independently and with the technical team to produce design visuals and scaled plans

Requirements

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject

  • Experience working within the planning sector preferable

  • Understanding of conservation issues to work alongside the ecology team.

  • Candidates should have 3 years + post CMLI or post RIBA part 3 experience.

  • Fluency in Auto CAD, Adobe creative suite is required. Experience in Vectorworks, REVIT and BIM would be an advantage.

  • Experience with fee tendering and bidding

  • Enthusiasm to be part of growing the business

 

The successful candidate is expected to be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute and is likely to be from a consultancy background and able to demonstrate technical excellence, a track record of success and the ability to build a winning team.
